“Massage therapy” means the health profession in which a person provides, for the purposes of developing, maintaining, rehabilitating or augmenting physical function, or relieving pain or promoting health, the services of

Massage Therapy Benefits

The effects of massage therapy are both physiological and psychological. Massage therapy performed on a healthy person increases muscle flexibility and relaxation, and decreases stress levels. The psychological effects are the increased well being that usually occurs with positive touch.

Psychological benefits are most evident in those experiencing stress and depression. Massage is recognized as effective in reducing or managing pain that arises from a variety of sources such as trauma, post-surgery, headache, fibromyalgia, arthritis and terminal illness.
